[edit] Importance

Is the importance parameter actually used? If not it should be added to the template or removed from the Usage section. --Flex (talk|contribs) 15:38, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Emblem of the Papacy

For the Catholicism picture can you change it to the updated picture of the vatican arms; Image:Emblem of the Papacy SE.svg please. The Quill (talk) 18:00, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Minor change

editprotected Could the noinclude section at the bottom be changed from:

<noinclude>  esoteric  == Usage ==  __NOTOC__      </noinclude>

to:

<noinclude> esoteric </noinclude>

[edit] New version

I'm building a new version of this template on the sandbox which uses WPBM and will sort out all the issues with this template. It's not quite finished yet, but I've noticed a few things and perhaps people can help me out.

  1. The following parameters seem to be completely unused. In most cases the corresponding categories don't even exist which probably means they were copied from some other banner! Do you want any of these?
    • portal
    • collaboration-candidate
    • past-collaboration
    • failed-collaboration
    • map-needed
    • image-needed
    • portaldykdate
    • portal-picture
    • assess-date
  2. The albums taskforce has a lot of categories missing. Do you want quality and importance classification for this taskforce?
  3. pre parameter is not supported, as it seemed to relate to a different project?
  4. Most of the categories required for Christian music albums task force are not created. Therefore categorisation for this taskforce is disabled for now.
  5. Ditto for the Christian songs task force.
  6. Ditto for the Southern Gospel music group.
  7. The serbian-orthodox-church has been merged with Eastern Orthodoxy.
    • The current banner accepts parameter soc but the documentation says serbian-orthodox-church.
  8. I have added support for a portal parameter as requested. However I haven't implemented image-needed or assess-date simply because the current banner doesn't support these, so I had no wording, icons or categorisation to copy from. However these are easily added later if the need arises.

If there are any other comments I'd be glad to hear them. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:28, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

The portal parameters should be kept. The collaboration and map features could reasonably be removed, although the image feature might still be useful. The assessment date feature could be very valuable, whether its used yet or not, and probably should be kept. And I'm fairly sure most of the template was copied from somewhere else. John Carter (talk) 15:36, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I have added a few other points above which I have come across. But, with these exceptions, I believe the new version is ready to roll. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:37, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Yes check.svgY Implemented. Should be a big improvement. Let's see if there are any comments. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:02, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Add portal image?

edit protected Would you be able to add a portal image, the same file: P christianity.svg, because the majority of the other religion related project banner templates have portal images. Thanks. --Funandtrvl (talk) 06:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

The reason I left it off is that the banner will automatically switch the portal link depending on which taskforce is activated. So I didn't know if there was one image which would suit all portals ... Let's see if any project members have an opinion on this. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:39, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
But, can't you program it to change the portal image to match each portal then? Not just keep one portal image for all the portals? I think WPFOOD has this programed in, or they were working on it at /Sandbox (capped S). --Funandtrvl (talk) 08:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
It would be possible, but it adds a lot of extra messy code to the template, so I didn't want to do it unless the project really wanted it. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:40, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
I've added the File:P christianity.svg as you suggested. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:03, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Something is wrong

Something is wrong with this. I just added it to Talk:Ed Blakely with the Church of the Nazarene parameter and it showed up with as part of the Anabaptist work group, too. I think I've seen this before. King of the Arverni (talk) 18:03, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Pictogram voting keep.svg Fixed, well spotted. It was actually affecting every nested banner! By the way there is no such parameter church-of-the-nazarene-class, as the taskforces all use the same class. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] image-needed not used

The parameter is documented, but currently has no effect. Documentation bug?--Oneiros (talk) 18:49, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I think it was just copied from another banner's documentation. I've removed it along with a few others that were not supported. Of course, if you want such an option, it would be simple to add. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
