Template talk:C20YearInTopicX:

[edit] Another item for box

Just stumbled across this box in 1989. Its beyond me, at the moment, in terms of programming language. So, I was wondering if someone could help me out by adding a wikilink for "X-year in LGBT rights" (i.e. 1989 in LGBT rights). Let me know. Thanks, ZueJay (talk) 02:18, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect

I've redirected this template to Template:C20YearInTopic so that it is in line with other similar templates and uses the same format. In addition, this template appeared misaligned and generally ugly. Warofdreams talk 02:48, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

03-Jan-2008: (4 months later) I see that the year-topic navbox was updated for new topics, but there were actually 600 prior year-articles using a similar condensed format, so I have returned the updated navbox into that condensed-navbox form, which also allows more right-side vertical space for images. An alternate format is used for years 2000-2008, where the format lists numerous other topics. The separation of "Subject" for Arts/Sciences is problematic, because Film is both an art and science (the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences), then there are distinctions between science and engineering fields, plus mathematics is considered both art/science: consequently, using the grouping as NPOV "Subject" avoids the separation of arts/sciences /humanities /business, where a reader might insist that "Law" is an art, and such. Grouping as "Subject" is safely vague enough to be an NPOV sorting of topics. Of course, the topic navbox for 2000-2008 (Template:C21YearInTopic) should also be improved, but there is so much other work, and those years after 1999 tend to become trendy battlegrounds. I've had enough trouble trying to stabilize the prior 700 years, as an encyclo- encompassing view of all suggested topics. -Wikid77 (talk) 04:02, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

A profound series of dialogues between one of the great sages of the 20th century, Ramana Maharshi, and his disciples. Maharshi guides the seeker toward reclaiming her inner freedom simply by looking in the right place and awakening to what has always been present. What we find in Sri Ramana is the purest of India ...He is the whitest spot in a white space. Carl. G. Jung.(6" x 9" / 506 pages. Paper)

Prana and Apana are two complementary types of movement coming from the core of the body. Prana is the upward, expanding, blossoming movement characteristic of inhaling. It is said to be centered in the Anahata Cakra (Heart center). Apana is the downward, contracting, rooting movement characteristic of exhaling. It is based at the center of the perineum, the Muladhara Cakra. Apana is said to tether Prana. Yoga begins by consciously uniting Prana and Apana, to feel their actions within each other. Prana is breath, life force, inner breath; prana is the substratum of perception. Prana is the substratum of thought, or chita. It is the way that perception is organized into patterns and it is only through patterns and organization that you know something, that you are consciously aware of something. So prana becomes intelligence, which is called budhi in Sanskrit, which comes from the root bud, which means to wake up and so it is the energy of waking up. What does waking up mean, but coming out of a state of mind that is like a dream. And so awakening or waking up is coming out of a framework of awareness like fantasy. Richard Freeman has studied and lived for nearly nine years in India and Asia, and is an avid student of both Western and Eastern philosophy, as well as Sanskrit. He incorporates various traditions into the Ashtanga Yoga practice taught by his principal teacher, K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. His background includes Bhakti and ...
