[edit] East Asia

Why no East Asia? HK, Taiwan, Japan, Macau and South Korea all have reported deaths Nil Einne (talk) 20:17, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Japan and Taiwan are categorized under South Asia by the ECDC report. --Cybercobra (talk) 23:29, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Please!!!

Please do not fiddle around with the table, just for the sake of changing it. I have an automatic updating scheme for the table, which I have to change every time you change something. Or do you want to recalculate and update the table on a daily basis? |FHessel (talk) 08:49, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] US DEATHS

First off great job on keeping up on maintaining the data at hand and keeping it updated with the info available.

However, If this data does not cover US DEATHS anymore we need to look at finding a different source (such as the cdc weekly report which does).. As a large percentage of the people reading the english version of wikipedia are from the US and the article is not only eurocentric... take the US out of the equation and its kind of an inaccurate and incomplete tabulation for the articles readership.. maybe use a combination of ecdc and cdc data.. even with the note about deaths not being reported a never changing united states tabulation is not going to work. any idea's? From August 30 - September 26, 2009, 3,311 laboratory-confirmed influenza associated hospitalizations, 182 laboratory-confirmed influenza associated deaths, http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/ Tracer9999 (talk) 17:35, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

It is more complicated! The CDC report is the main problem. If the CDC would report, ECDC would also do (ECDC is not as eurocentric as you think!)
CDC has stopped to discern between seasonal and pandemic flu, therefore we cannot use the CDC numbers. I do not have a quick solution. Please note my related entry.
FHessel (talk) 14:58, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
btw, in Cases and deaths by country we have numbers for the US, which have been obtained from the US state authorities. These numbers are as accurate as they can be.
FHessel (talk) 15:04, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
It is not helping to amend a (btw not very specific) source for the US deaths.
First of all we already have good references in Template:2009 flu pandemic table and Template:2009 US swine flu outbreak table.
Furthermore the whole table is self-referring, thus changing one number invalidates all the others (e.g. the increases and percentages).
Now it appears as if the number of North American deaths is complete, but what abaout the Canadian and Mexican deaths?
Last not least this table had been introduced, because detailing the countries had grown too big in size. But then, why to detail the U.S. and not for example Brazil?
There is only one solution: stick to the EDCD as source for the complete table and refer to Template:2009 flu pandemic table, where the detailed picture can be obtained.
FHessel (talk) 05:15, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Wrong information isn't a solution, its a mistake. The references show that just for one country the count is over 1000 for N.A. Its not helping mis-informing wikipedia readers. Claiming the number is bad because it doesn't include other countries, then lowering the number further, is rediculous. Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 05:42, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Move to right

I thing this table should be moved to the right on the 2009 flu pandemic article, because I think the first thing readers see should be the summary and not this table. Also, it looks very bad, if there are floated objects on both sides of the text (especially on smaller screens).

I don't mind moving this table from the lead section. In that case, the position should also be reconsidered, because usually, tables like this are on the right. Svick (talk) 00:12, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

I agree completely. Should be on the right. My opinion it belongs best in the epidemiology section. But still on the right. [edit] Discussion regarding mortality table

Here we are having a discussion regarding placement of this table Talk:2009_flu_pandemic#Were_should_we_put_the_mortality_table Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 14:31, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
