This template is designed for the series on Smoking acting as an access point to the multiple articles closely tied to the main subject. There are currently six different functions for this template all of which control the show/hide attribute of the template.

[edit] Parameters

Each of the five sections has a function that controls whether not it defaults as show or hide. There is also a sixth function "showAll" can display all five at once. If the sixth function is used in conjunction with any of the five, then that section will default as hide.

• showTobacco can be activated by passing a "yes" into the function.
• showCannabis can be activated by passing a "yes" into the function.
• showOpium can be activated by passing a "yes" into the function.
• showCrack can be activated by passing a "yes" into the function.
• showOther can be activated by passing a "yes" into the function.
• showAll can be activated by passing a "yes" into the function.

[edit] Basic operation

To place the template into the article, add it after the navigational templates and cleanup templates so that it is directly preceding the text. There should be no blank line between the template and the text.

To show the first section or any of the five, add the attribute "showTobacco=yes" to the template. The section within the template will therefore default as "show", rather than "hide". Remember to add the pipe symbol " | " (generally located above the enter or return key) to separate the template name and the parameters.

To show all five sections at once without having to add the parameter for each add "showAll=yes" to the template. Remember to remove all other parameters when doing so.

[edit] Assigning parameters by deduction

Occasionally you may show all sections except for a selected few. This becomes useful when showing all four or three out of the five sections. Rather than assigning the parameter "showTobacco=yes|showCannabis=yes..." and so forth, assign "showAll=yes" and then the sections you do not want to show (e.g. "showCrack=yes").
