Tchad Blake (born in 1955[1]) is an American record producer, audio engineer, mixer and musician.

He has worked with numerous artists and musicians, including State Radio, Apartment 26, Elvis Costello, Peter Gabriel, Pearl Jam, Tom Waits, Richard Thompson, Brazilian Girls, Sheryl Crow, Travis, Crowded House, Finn Brothers, Bernard Fanning, Los Lobos, The Bad Plus, Sam Phillips, Suzanne Vega, Stina Nordenstam, Phish, Bonnie Raitt, Lisa Germano, Al Green, Tracy Chapman, Phantom Planet, Gomez, The Dandy Warhols, American Music Club, Cibo Matto, Haley Bonar, David Rhodes and Soul Coughing, among others.

He often partners with Mitchell Froom, with whom David Hidalgo and Louie Pérez of Los Lobos formed Latin Playboys.

Blake is noted for creating original and at times awkward sonic textures (usually with unorthodox gear), constantly shifting mixes, and use of binaural recording.

In 2008 he landed the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, for his work on Suzanne Vega's Beauty and Crime. He won his first Grammy in 1999 for The Globe Sessions by Sheryl Crow.

In March 2009, Tchad Blake took part in a guest lecture in the Department of Music and Audio at the University of Kent.
