The Tampa City Council, the legislative body of Tampa, Florida, consists of seven members, three of which are elected at large. The City Council is responsible for enacting ordinances and resolutions that the Mayor of Tampa administers.

Election of city council members occur every four years, mainly during odd-numbered years. All councilmembers' terms begin April 1. The current term of the current council members will end on March 31, 2011.[1]

Tampa City Hall

The first three districts are At-Large Districts, which means that the districts are represented citywide.[1] Districts 4 thru 7 are divided.

The current makeup of the council are:

This district serves the entire city of Tampa.

This district serves the entire city of Tampa.

Neighborhoods that are represented are Ballast Point, Bayshore Beautiful, Bayshore Gardens, Balmar Shore, Port Tampa City, Davis Islands, Fair Oaks-Manhattan Manor, Golfview, Historic Hyde Park, New Suburb Beautiful, Virginia Park, Palam Ceia, Gandy-Sun Bay South, SoHo District, South Westshore, portions of Sunset Park and Oscawana.[2]

Landmarks within this district include Westshore Business District, Legends Field, Tampa International Airport and Raymond James Stadium.
