[edit] Countries[edit] Link for "volunteers"The first paragraph says "Wikipedia's 13 million articles (3 million in English) have been written collaboratively by volunteers," and "volunteers" links to the [[Volunteer|general volunteer page]. I think it should link to the [Virtual_volunteering|virtual volunteering] page instead, since these are specifically online volunteers, rather than traditional onsite volunteers, especially since Wikipedia is one of the largest examples of virtual volunteering. Comment by: User:Jcravens42 [edit] Beta version of WikipediaWikipedia article does not contain any information about the new beta feature nor any content about wikipedia's future. Wikipedia staff should do something about this. [edit] Servers in Korea decommissioned?According to Wikitech [2] [3] and Ganglia, there are no longer Wikipedia servers in Korea, though even Meta-Wiki hasn't been updated and there seems to be no up-to-date server layout diagram. [edit] Lawsuits involving WikipediaPerhaps there should be a distinct entry about lawsuits involving Wikipedia, given that many people over the years have argued that some material on the website constitutes a liable defamation against them. Because of the rather limited jurisprudence of the Internet, many of these lawsuits have turned out to be notable in determining what does and doesn't constitute defamation. Might be worth checking and updating if so. — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 19:14, 25 December 2009 (UTC) [edit] Usage VolumetricsI notice that whilst this article give a good overview of Wikipedia and page volumetrics, that it is entirely silent on usage volumetrics. Adding such a topic would enrich this article. Unfortunately as far as I can see the foundation doesn't seem to publish page hit volumetrics, and if this is the case then including it in the article could be classified as original research. (I have searched the discussion archive to see if the point has been raised previously, but the nearest that I can find is Google search trends. — TerryE (talk) 12:49, 28 December 2009 (UTC) [edit] MottoAldough "the free encyclopedia" is a good motto, another good one could be: "providing a way to see the big picture" (eg versus what's right in front of us in society). Perhaps something could be done with this. 91.182.187.161 (talk) 12:21, 30 December 2009 (UTC) Categories: Old requests for peer review | GA-Class Wikipedia articles | Top-importance Wikipedia articles | WikiProject Wikipedia articles | GA-Class Websites articles | GA-Class Websites articles of Top-importance | Top-importance Websites articles | GA-Class Computing articles | Top-importance Computing articles | GA-Class Internet culture articles | High-importance Internet culture articles | Articles to be included in Wikipedia 0.7 | Wikipedia CD Selection | GA-Class Version 0.7 articles | Language and literature Version 0.7 articles | Wikipedia former featured articles | Wikipedia good articles | Wikipedia CD Selection-GAs | GA-Class Good articles | Engineering and technology good articles | Wikipedia pages referenced by the press | Wikipedia pages with to-do lists | Selected anniversaries (January 2005) | Wikipedia as a media topic | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
