[edit] Song length"The song is nearly three thousand words long and runs for 14:36." Is that statement correct, I have it at running 5:03...no clue on the word count until a citation is made im deleting this.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.49.26.26 (talk)
Isn't the single also the longest single (by length) to hit the Billboard Top 40? I can't think of anything longer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.205.226.82 (talk) 17:34, 5 October 2008 (UTC) [edit] VideoWas there any video for Rapper's Delight? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.240.234.212 (talk • contribs)
[edit] Good Times is derived from Another One Bites The Dust? This can't be correct. I believe Good Times is the earlier song. In fact, elsewhere in this Wikipedia, Another One Bites The Dust is listed as a 1980 release, and Good Times was released in 1979. I'm going to delete the erroneous part of this Rapper's Delight article. --Jlg9999989 14:01, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The 1Xtra versionWho were the Uk rappers that did the 25th anniversary cover version for 1Xtra? I'm pretty sure Rodney P proclaims his involvement in the first verse, but apart from that...?--Macca7174 23:40, 2 October 2006 (UTC) [edit] C'est ChicI cannot, that's right CANNOT believe the matter of Chic is even in dispute. It is quite ocbviously Chic, I have heard that breakdown section hundreds if not thousands of times and I'd know it anywhere. I cannot believe you guys. The band said it was replayed to get out of the Atlantic Records portion of the payoff. Chic made much more money by removing the label from the deal (eliminate the middle man), like, DUH!! What gets me most bummed is that I'm trying to save the history of hip hop culture in the Wiki by starting the breakdown section entry and I'm in an editing dispute and they want to delete it so I come here to bolster my arguments and you all just let me down... sigh...--Tednor 21:20, 1 December 2006 (UTC) Ok I am new to this thing...all I did was correct a misguided link...the linked page existed but did not appear as listed. Hope I did not break any protocol...though judging by the formal layout of even this page I am sure I have. I'd say it's the Chic breakdown - HOWEVER, only the drum and bass lines comes from Good Times directly. Everything else is almost definitely rerecorded - try mixing it into Good Times and you'll see what I mean! 82.31.213.237 01:04, 4 July 2007 (UTC) [edit] 100 Greatest Rap Songs
