[edit] Merge

Although proposed for merger ({{Merge|Hereditary monarchy|date=December 2006}}), no case has been provided for merger. It is clear upon reading these articles that there are significant differences – each article addresses a topic which warrants discussion independently. If you feel strongly, please follow proposed mergers and provide a logical proposal for merger. Until then, the merger proposal is deleted. Skål Williamborg (Bill) 23:58, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Confusing

"Elective monarchy can practically function as a hereditary monarchy, for example in case of eligibility being limited to members of one family (or even further, if allowed by the rules of precedence in the election). This has happened historically, usually slowly, in many past elective monarchies." It's not clear to me what the author means by limited even further. To me further can mean that only part of the family is eligible or that persons outside the family are eligble (but English isn't my first language). Also, the sentence "This has happened..." seems to refer to some slow change, but it's unclear what "This" is. I think that the sentence shold read "The change to hereditary monarchy has happened...". Sjö (talk) 10:54, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Good Idea or not?

It would be a good idea if the pros and cons of hereditary monarchy were added to this. Aside from that its a good article. 207.6.58.94 (talk) 02:44, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
