What a poor article .... Not a word on Jan Linssen, Puck van Heel, Ove Kindvall, Coen Moulijn (487!! games played for Feyenoord), Wim Jansen, Wim van Hanegem ... Nothing on the most famous matches like the 9-4 win against Ajax in the sixties, the defeat against Eusebio's Benfica, the triumph against Celtic and Spurs, Borussia. No anecdotes: for example Eddy Treytels "pigeon kick", Van Daele' spectacles. Nothing on the history of the Kuip - built in 1937! Only a reference to (I agree, infamous) an irrelevant episode (Beverwijk) in this great club's history. I do hope somebody can do better than this. Hand in hand kameraden ... Van een Rotterdammer in Azie
The away kit of Feyenoord Rotterdam for 2005/2006 are white shirts, white shorts, and white socks. [edit] Het Legioen82.156.71.55, as a Dutchman (living in Breda), you very well know that Feyenoord's nickname is not Het Legioen. The supporters are called that way, but not the club itself, so "Het Legioen" has no place whatsoever in the infobox. It only belongs in the article proper, where it is. Aecis 7 July 2005 11:56 (UTC) I live in The Hague [edit] The shirtsThe colours of the shirts are in the wrong order,It's a white left sleeze, red left half of the shirt, white right half of the shirt, and a red right sleeze, the away shirt for 2005/2006 is all white, shirts, shorts and socks.
[edit] FORTISThe shirts contain a sponsor. Is this not considered advertising? which is against the wiki policy. Mark 01:17, 23 June 2007 (UTC) [edit] Detailing the shirtI'm a die-hard Feyenoord fan,and i want to know if you can detail the shirt,If this is possible,(you probably know the emblem)the shirt sponsor is Fortis, and the kit sponsor is Kappa,I can email you a picture of a Feyenoord shirt, but i don't know Wikipedia's email adress.
How do you upload to Wikipedia?
[edit] KameradenI also want to put the English translation of 'Kameraden' in the infobox, but(as a Dutchman) i don't know how to spell 'Kameraden' in English.
Are Friends,Buddies and Pals good alternatives?
I would suggest "comrades" is fine. It has in English the same connotations as Kameraden in Dutch, and the word in both languages is slightly archaic: Fellow struggler against oppression (from the French Revolution); comrade in arms (fellow soldier); fellow member of a working-class political movement or union. The Feijenoord area of Rotterdam, the home of Feyenoord F.C., has a proud tradition of left-wing politics with which many supporters presumably identify. Nearly all of the current members of the Deelraad (district administration) of Feijenoord are members of the P.v.d.A. (the Dutch Labour Party).Frans Fowler (talk) 19:18, 16 October 2009 (UTC) [edit] TransfersDidn't Leonardo,Magrao and Kalou already had a transfer?
[edit] Keeper's kitCan't the keepers kit (black shirt, black shorts and black socks) appear in the infobox?
[edit] Feijenoord StadionIf Feyenoord is spelled Feyenoord, why is their stadium spelled as Feijenoord Stadion?
That is because the lettermaker made a mistake in 1937. The sign in front of the stadium syas stadion feyenoord, but the official name of the stadium is Stadion Feijenoord. [edit] The emblemIn which season the golden F in the Feyenoord emblem turned white?
[edit] Away ShirtThe away shirt has a green collar. [edit] PhotoCould somebody identify the players in the photo I uploaded? deeptrivia (talk) 01:37, 30 November 2005 (UTC) I'm a Feyenoord-fan,I probably could recognise them if the photo's aren't too old
If you mean the one while their practising, from left to right it's ?,Leonardo(dos Santos),Kees van Wonderen,(Bonaventure)Kalou,Patrick Paauwe,Paul Bosvelt and Shinji Ono with,I think it's Van Persie behind him.
[edit] Famous Feyenoord fansDoes anyone know more famous Feyenoord fans? [edit] Ron VlaarThis hasn't to do anything with the page, but it wasn't smart of Feyenoord to buy Vlaar, the selection already has 28 players, and 12 of them played only 5 games or less
[edit] LeonardoLeonardo has been sold to NAC, not loaned out. [edit] Timothy DerijckAdded a new Wikipedia article about Timothy Derijck. Makes the Feyenoord Rotterdam article more complete (I think) feel free to check it out an make sufestions! Mariah-Yulia 17:43, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Włodzimierz SmolarekAdded him to the list of famous Feyenoord players, as (although already somewhat over his top in his time at Feyenoord) he has had a far more established carreer as for instance his son, Eusebiusz.... [edit] Shirt sponsoring--Tsjipmanz 20:19, 28 January 2007 (UTC) I think the clothing sponsor starting 1987 was Hummel, rather than Huppel, and the source you mention is incorrect in this case. Also see http://www.hummel.dk/Company/Milestones/1981-1990/1987.aspx
[edit] Split article? The recent additions improved the article mucho, but also made it a bit long (according to Wikipedia:Article size anyway). To solve this, we could transfer the history section to its own subpage leaving a summary in the main article, sí? Razororz 09:19, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] reflistSomeone tried to make the reflist into two columns, which in my opinion is a good idea, but his edit did not get the result wanted. At least when I take a look at the refs there's still one column. So if anyone knows how to get this into two columns please do so :) SportsAddicted | discuss 22:55, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Historical clashes sectionOn the grounds that most of the truly notable looking matches here are already mentioned in the history, I'm minded to remove the section wholesale. A Feyenoord fan might want to go through and move one or two to the history first though, so I'll hold off for a while first. Oldelpaso 20:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Supporters sectionFeyenoord can be called a popular club because they always attract huge amounts of fans.[1] The club's fans excel in European Cup matches played abroad where thousands of fan travel to support their team. Exact numbers on which clubs attract the most fans abroad are not available, but it's known this is a high rate compared to most other European clubs. This paragraph doesn't really mean a lot. The one reference doesn't look to verify it, and its a club source anyway, so could be partisan. If it were Feyenoord have attracted the nth highest attendances in the Netherlands for the past y years (ref) or something verifiable, then it would be more meaningful. Also, regarding the phrase supporting the team during both good or bad times, some might argue that a club which has never been relegated hasn't had too many bad times ;-) Oldelpaso 20:38, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AmbassadorsI saw Oldelpaso removed the Feyenoord ambassadors as it was unsure to him wheter that section is notible or not. The ambassador promotes the club in several occasions through the year, nationally and internationally. They show up at club's related projects and are considered part of the team and reach the media for this specific case every now and then. I don't know what you expect them to do for the club, but in my opinion this section should be mentioned in the article. However, all of them are also named in the famous Feyenoord supporters section and an addition behind their name about their ambassadorship might be enough. SportsAddicted | discuss 00:29, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] KakkerlakkenFor any future additions of a nickname like Kakkerlakken or the translation Cockroaches I'd like to clarify that this is not a nickname of Feyenoord. It's the name supporters of other teams might call the Feyenoord fans, and is somehow some sort of swearing. The name Kakkerlakken refers to the fans while the nickname section is there clarify the nicknames of the team. SportsAddicted | discuss 16:37, 7 February 2007 (UTC) [edit] ?Why is necessary to have a footnote to verify that Feyenoord is a club in Rotterdam? 70.16.21.163 06:31, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] TIFO Award in Internation Trophy list?Isn't that "award" out of place there? Is it even a trophy? The reference is only a italian website, I don't have more infromation. The mention of it in the supporter section seems enough for this really. And isn't it better to let the list at the end consist of real prizes the club has won by playing football? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.93.22.238 (talk) 00:15, 18 March 2007 (UTC). [edit] Remove interim managersInterim managers are nothing special i dont think people are interested in the person who took over from a sacked headcoach i suggest we delete them it also makes the managers area more readable !
[edit] Suggest move to Feyenoord
The result of the proposal was move to Feyenoord. — TKD::Talk 23:25, 6 September 2007 (UTC) I suggest moving this article to Feyenoord (which is currently a redirect to Feyenoord Rotterdam). Feyenoord is the name for the club. The word Rotterdam might have been helpful to disambiguate this, but there's nothing to disambiguate Feyenoord from. The reason I didn't move it straight away is that the article has had this particular name for a very long time. AecisBrievenbus 15:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC) I agree, just posted this on the Request Moves page. Rotterdam is irrelevant in the article name. The club also speaks about 'Feyenoord', not 'Feyenoord Rotterdam' on their official website and in the official media. Greetings, Ultras GE 21:58, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jack HallThe article lists a Jack Hall as manager from 1926-1929 and 1939-1940. There is now an article on a Jack Hall, an English footballer. Seems like it might be the same person, but that Jack Hall died in 1938, and this article's Jack Hall was managing in 1939. Are they different people, or are the years messed up? Simon12 02:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Famous former playersI recently removed a number of players from this section on the grounds that they had made few appearances for the club, though this has since been reverted. Herein lies the problem with the section; as there are no inclusion criteria, players are added or removed based upon the opinion of that particular editor. Without inclusion criteria, the list is inherently POV. The former coach is depicted on this site as Dutch, but he seems to have been born in Vienna and also have played for the Austrian national football team. Info on this topic is scarce and my sources might be wrong, but if no one has other info it might as well be changed. OdinFK (talk) 14:11, 12 July 2008 (UTC) [edit] Golden away kitCould somebody please put the golden away kit in the infobox too? It is a golden shirt with (I think) black shorts and black socks. And FORTIS on the shirt isn't advertising, the PSV-shirts have PHILIPS,and (on the Dutch Wikipedia) the FC Utrecht-shirts have PHANOS visible on the shirts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feyenoordtillidie (talk • contribs) 06:52, 14 July 2008 (UTC) Thanks for the adding of the golden away kit. User:Feyenoordtillidie 19:19, 17 July 2008 [edit] Current squad in a glanceThat part of the article, is it useful? I mean, the current squad is posted later in the article. It is kinda double to post the current squad twice, one fully and the other in a template. Lucha-Method (talk) 16:43, 16 July 2008 (UTC) [edit] De VereenigingWhy is the name of the owner of De Vereeniging relevant enough for this article? Did he play a role in the history of Feyenoord, was he part of the club's hsitory, or did he just happen to own the pub where Wilhelmina was founded? Aecis·(away) talk 17:40, 5 January 2009 (UTC) [edit] Mario BeenMario Been was a fantastic player. From what I've heard, one of the best Feyennord had in the mid-80's. Saw him playing live twice and was impressed. How come no Feyenoord fan has ever written a Wiki article about him? I don't know much about his life, otherwise I'd write a few lines about him myself right away. Good luck, Feyenoord.
