According to what I've heard, a large proportion of Moroccans are of mixed Arab and Berber descent.

I'd like to learn more about the Berbers.

[edit] Statistics completly outdated

Those statistcis are completly outdated, as they are extracted from the CIA world factbook which is based on estimation, they don't include numbers from the 2004 census--Khalid hassani 17:18, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

===>I'd like to have new statistics... But, the problem is, if they were conducted by the Kingdom of Morocco, these censuses will probably include inhabitants of Western Sahara, which is totally inappropriate for this article. We would need a third-party statistics-gathering resource, and/or meticulous data so Saharan stats could be rooted out before putting them in this article.

The statistics you are asking for simply don't exist as far as I know. It's commonly admitted that the population of Western Sahara is less that 300 000 people even by the UN and if we take the Spanish census as starting point, and this even if we take into account Moroccan settlements. This is about 1% of The Moroccan population, which is much less than the error rate of a census, so technically and statistically the Moroccan numbers are correct. On The other side, the CIA fact book estimations themselves which the article use are based on governemental statistics (probably the 1994 census), so by your logic they are biaised exactly in the same way--Khalid hassani 22:02, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Khalid, it appears the stats have been partly updated to the Sep 2004 census statistics, is that correct? (Collounsbury 16:38, 1 March 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Saharwi non Arab?

Who wrote that silly tripe? They're bloody Arabic speakers by birth. (collounsbury 09:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)).
