This is not written in a Wikipedian style in the slightest

I suspect that i am the person who coined the word cargo pants. I am curious as to the first recorded use of the phrase. mathew 12:23, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone else think the sentence "Cargo shorts are similar to cargo pants, except they are shorts." seems strange?24.118.204.105 20:51, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Yep, I do! I have rewritten much of this articlenow, adding a lot of material, and made that bit read better. Bards 12:02, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Using "bum" seems a little informal... Jodamn 15:50, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cargo pockets

Wouldn't cargo pockets be a more appropriate article? Tmaull (talk) 16:30, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Time of Invention

Is whoever wrote this just making things up about when they were invented and popular?

I have no idea if they were "invented" in the UK in the 1970s, but I know the assertion that they didn't become used in the US until the late 1990s is wrong. I was given a pair of cotton cargo pants by a friend in 1990 or 1991 and then I was mugged at knife point while wearing them on in San Francisco in 1991. I remember this distinctly since the muggers cut through the pockets that were sewn on to the outside of the pants as they were trying to find anything else of value to take. You don't forget your pockets being sliced a few inches from your flesh by a crack-crazed mugger and his crack-crazed pal.

So, maybe this bit could use a bit more research cause I'm pretty sure it's not 100% true.

I have no idea where the person writing this article received their information, but I can tell you for an absolute fact that the trend first came into being with the Summer or Transition Season of Rescue Sportswear out of San Francisco in 1983. A small collection was developed to counter the Michael Jackson trend of poly/urethane pants, zippers and mesh by utilizing trends seen in europe for military clothing as well as the designers' haunts of local military surplus stores. The trend was started with a wider silhouette or what was called a "reverse silhouette", i.e. narrow at the ankle and wider at the hip area. All pockets and ornamentation had to be functional according to U.S. customs laws at the time as I was manufacturing in Hong Kong and the Philippines. I have the proof to back up my facts with pictures, drawings, awards given, factories produced in during the time period and original samples as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cadet8 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sport Skirt

Why does "sport skirt" link to Field Hockey? LordShonus (talk) 05:49, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
