[edit] Propose merge

I propose that this page be merged either with Bear call spread or, better yet, Options strategies. Thoughts? Finnancier 10:52, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Let's merge instead with Bull put spread calling the whole thing Bull spread. And reduce the number of option combination articles to about 5 or 6 with the remainder listed in a general options strategies article. Smallbones 12:57, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Would it be better to merge them into the Bull spread and Bear spread pages, or into Put spread and Call spread? And what should be done with Debit spread and Credit spread (options)? Finnancier 13:07, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Figure

I think the figure is misleading. The long call and short call have very different premiums in general. The drawing could lead to misunderstanding.

I have no software to make these drawings, perhaps somebody can help? --Uffe 15:56, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What's misleading?

I made the pix and am wondering what you think is misleading. If you can explain I'll make a new one that's not misleading. As far as I know the only 2 principles to look at here are 1) C X1 > C X2 (the call with the lower exercise price should have a premium higher than the call with the higher exercise price; and 2) (C X1 - C X2) < PV (X2 - X1) (i.e. the difference in call prices is less than the difference in the present values of the exercise prices). I think the picture fits these 2 limits. It just means that the grey line on the right hand side of the graph has to be between the axis and the blue line. Where would you like me to put the line a) lower, b) higher, c) other ____.

Thanks for any input Smallbones 17:27, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Boldly redirecting

As per merge proposal, I am boldly redirecting this page to Bull spread as I have done with Bull put spread. Feel free to revert me if I am overreaching. Ronnotel 13:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
