[edit] GA Review
- This review is transcluded from Talk:Bang! Pow! Boom!/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.
Reviewer: Hi, I'm Mm40 (talk · contribs) and I'll be reviewing the article. My review will be up soon (I tend to be something of a pedant, so please forgive me). If you have any questions/concerns, put them here and I'll respond ASAP. Cheers, Mm40 (talk) 20:09, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- General
- Lead
- Anywhere you can link "Joker's Cards" to?
- I suggest rewording "The album is their best critically received album so far." as "It is their best-received album so far."
- "the revisit of the Dark Carnival concept" should be "the return to the Dark Carnival concept" or something similar; "revisit" and "of the" don't go together well
- Production
- "of Insane Clown Posse's discography
up until the production of the" removes redundancy - remove the comma after "returned to Psychopathic Records"
- I would add the place of recording after the date of recording
- Link cannabis?
- Music and lyrics
- Unlink Dark Carnival in the section's first quote; I would normally be OK with it, but we should avoid linking words in quotes MOS:QUOTE and the term is linked in the lead.
- I would remove the comma after "character within the Dark Carnival"
- Do the two quotes at the end of the first paragraph belong here, in Production, or in Reception?
- In the quote introducing Bang! Pow! Boom!, you say it's from the intro, but not which cover's intro (because it says all three have different ones)
I'll check the other sections, references, and images later. Mm40 (talk) 21:21, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- Release and promotion
- "was preceded a nationwide in-store tour" missing word?
- link hidden track
- Reception
- "while also reiterating" "re" means for a second time; he hadn't iterated this point before
- Personnel
- Do you have a ref for this?
- References
- Sources seem to be reliable (some might not like the Myspace ref, but WP:SELFPUB makes it seem ok)
- Publication dates and access dates are inconsistent; one is month day the other is day month. Be consistent (I would prefer month day because this is an American topic)
- The access dates for refs 18 and 15 are different
- Images
- The album cover has a very nice fair-use rationale, so images are fine
- Further improvement
Although these aren't necessary for GA, here are some suggestions for make the article even better.
Only a few fixes needed to achieve GA status, I'm putting this on hold for seven days to allow you to resolve these. Cheers, Mm40 (talk) 00:58, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- I worked on the points you noted. The personnel section is sourced from the album booklet, and I have encountered GAN and FACs where reviewers told me that this wouldn't need any citations. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 02:21, 29 November 2009 (UTC))
- I know, just thought it might be nice. I'm passing the article, but note that you haven't done the second and third issues under References. Congratulations, and please consider reviewing another article in the nominations backlog. Cheers, Mm40 (talk) 11:33, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've made the corrections as well as a few other suggestions you had made. I also changed the Myspace ref because they also posted the same article on their website. Juggalobrink (talk) 13:09, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] 1st of second 6.
Bang Pow Boom is the first of a second six joker cards. do we have an official source for this? this deserves a mention in the article. Also, do we have the right to use the intro, we did that on the other joker cards, and they were removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mastermarth (talk • contribs) 02:32, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has a thing about using entire paragraphs of copyrighted text; it doesn't qualify as fair use (excerpts do, but not the entire thing). There's no evidence that Bang! Pow! Boom! is the first of six additional Joker's Cards. In fact, the plan was to not make Bang! Pow! Boom! a Joker's Card. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 03:06, 12 December 2009 (UTC))
