That's true. The thing is, the text of the page wasn't well thought out but developed over time via dozens or hundreds of editors. The way it's currently construed is, like most of the regional hip hop pages, it focuses primarily on musicians (rap groups, MCs, and DJs). The sad state of affairs is that there aren't enough hip hop experts here at English Wikipedia, yet. Badagnani 21:20, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

I think that Compton should be it's own sub topic not to confuse people that they may be from the inside of Los Angeles, there are a lot of rappers from there and they deserve a more planned out mention.

Anyone care to add michigan to the midwest? more specifically Detroit with eminem, D-12, Trick Trick, Royce Da 5'9", and Obie Trice. Surely Worth a Mention.

If this article does not receive sufficient improvement, I will take this to AfD for a new start. It's just a random, unverified, and uncited list of hip hop artists, which either should belong under a category type list, or a list article, NOT a main article on what makes american hip hop unique. ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 18:19, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
