[edit] Link to previous Grand Prix seasons?

Would it be useful if we link to previous Grand Prix seasons from the 1950 Formula One season? Like so:

1950 Grand Prix season
Previous: 1949 Next: none

Thus showing continuity between pre- and post-war Grand Prix motor racing and the Formula One World Championship?

[edit] Points

I think it would be useful to tell at each year's page the scoring system so we can understand it better. Can anyone do that?

Fsarmony (talk) 17:41, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

It's already there, in the "Season Summary" section: "Championship points were given to top 5 finishers (8, 6, 4, 3, 2). 1 point was given for the fastest lap. Only the best four of seven scores counted towards the World Championship. Points for shared drives were divided equally between the drivers, regardless of how many laps each driver drove." -- DH85868993 (talk) 11:58, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] unknown signs

In some places the sign "Ret†" is shown, but it does not mean that the driver was killed in an accident. What does it mean? --Slartibartfass (talk) 20:47, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

At the bottom of the section, it says:
  • * Fastest lap (1 point awarded)
  • † Position shared between more drivers of the same car
  • Only the best 4 results counted towards the Championship. Numbers without parentheses are Championship points; numbers in parentheses are total points scored.
That's what it means :-) –Fred Bradstadt (talk) 21:15, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Argentina flag for Scuderia Achille Varzi

How is Scuderia Achille Varzi Argentinian and an offshoot of the Automobile Club of Argentina if Varzi himself was Italian? Can anyone provide a reference please? --Pc13 (talk) 16:55, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
