"La 1" (also known as "TVE 1" or "La Primera") is a television channel managed by Spanish national broadcaster Televisión Española along with its sister channel La 2. Launched on 28 October 1956, it was the first television service to ever operate in Spain.

Its programming is aimed to a wide-range of audiences and includes news, documentaries, debate programmes and entertainment shows. Even though TVE1 is state-owned, it does show adverts in order to fund itself.
