Timothy "T. J." Oshie, Jr. ^[1] (born December 23, 1986 in Mount Vernon, Washington) is an American professional ice hockey center currently playing for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by St. Louis in the first round, 24th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Oshie played high school hockey for Warroad High School in Warroad, Minnesota and joined the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL) at the completion of his senior season with the Warriors in 2004-05. He played at the University of North Dakota for three seasons following his time in the USHL, and played seven games with the United States WJC-A team in 2005-06.^[2]

On May 13, 2008, Oshie opted to forgo his senior season with the Fighting Sioux and sign with the St. Louis Blues.^[3] In October 2008, he started the season with St. Louis as a rookie. He scored his first career goal on October 22, against the Detroit Red Wings. Blues fans warmed quickly to his fast, energetic style of play, and he became one of the most popular faces during the team's shock playoff run in 2008-09: his #74 shirt sold out in stores around the area, hour-long waits for his autograph at personal appearances were common, and a campaign was even started for fans to write his name in during local mayoral elections. Playing in only 57 games, Oshie collected a line of 14G-25A-39 points during his rookie year, and following the Blues' elimination in the playoffs he received his first senior national team cap for the 2009 IIHF World Championship. He also won the NHL's 2008-09 "Goal of the Year" honors for a stellar individual effort against the Vancouver Canucks on March 26: getting the puck at center ice from line-mate David Perron, he made a move to the left-side boards that caused Rick Rypien to fall down, deked Mattias Öhlund and forced Roberto Luongo to overcommit to the right side, leaving a wide-open net that he easily scored into, tying the game at 1-1 and setting the stage for an eventual Blues win.
