The Székely Himnusz (Szekler Hymn) has been the unofficial national anthem of the Székely Hungarians (around 1,500,000 people^{[citation needed]}) living in eastern Transylvania (now part of Romania) and elsewhere in the world. On September 5, 2009, it was adopted as the official anthem of Szeklerland at the Congress of the Szekler Self-Government.
