Syd Eru is a former New Zealand rugby league player.

He was signed by the Auckland Warriors for their debut season in the Australian Rugby League competition in 1995 as the backup hooker but by the end of the season had replaced Duane Mann, the New Zealand Kiwis captain, as both Auckland and New Zealand hooker.

He represented New Zealand at the 1995 Rugby League World Cup where he tested positive for ephedrine. ^[1]

He remained with the Warriors until the end of the 1999 season, retiring to Western Australia.
