Swedbank Stadion is a football stadium in Malmö, Sweden, that is used for football matches and hosts the home matches of Malmö FF. The stadium has a league capacity of 24,000 people (18,000 of which are seated and 6,000 standing) or 21,000 seats in international matches; it replaced Malmö FF's former stadium Malmö Stadion. On July 12, 2007, Malmö FF announced that they had sold the naming rights for the arena to the Swedish bank Swedbank.[3] Other companies that have acquired naming rights to stands inside the stadium are construction company Peab, brewing company Carlsberg (which will market its beer brand Falcon), newspaper Sydsvenskan, and the energy corporation E.ON. [4] The stadium also hosted the finals of the 2009 UEFA Under-21 Championships, along with three group stage games. [5] After the Under-21 Championships, the current all-seater away section will be refitted to terraces. [6]
