Sublime Frequencies is a record label based in Seattle, Washington that focuses exclusively on "acquiring and exposing obscure sights and sounds from modern and traditional urban and rural frontiers," mostly from Southeast Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East. The releases are primarily divided into four categories: field recordings, folk and pop compilations, radio collages from specific geographic locales, and DVDs. The label is headed by Alan Bishop and Hisham Mayet. Its releases are produced in limited quantities (usually 1,000 copies), and are usually not reprinted after these copies sell out; thus, some of the label's releases are out of print. [As of April 2009, the following titles are out of print: SF 004, SF 005, SF 006, SF 007, SF 010, SF 014, SF 015, SF 022, SF 023, SF 024, SF 026, SF 042, SF 046; and the following have been re-issued: SF 011, SF 016, SF 019, SF 020, SF 025, SF 028, SF 029, SF 030, SF 031]
