The Subantarctic is a region in the Southern Hemisphere immediately north of the Antarctic and covering the many islands of the southern parts of the Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean, which are north of the Antarctic Convergence. These include Diego Ramírez Islands, Campbell Island, Macquarie Island, Crozet Islands and Prince Edward Islands, and as the northern boundary of the subantarctic region is less than well defined, sometimes the Falkland Islands, Isla de los Estados and islands adjacent to Cape Horn, Amsterdam and Saint Paul Islands, Gough Island and Tristan da Cunha group are also included. Islands of the Southern (or Antarctic) Ocean, south of the convergence, however, are not considered subantarctic, but Antarctic. The Kerguelen Islands lie on the boundary. [edit] See also
