Stephen H. Davis (born 7 September 1939) is an American fluid dynamicist. Davis is the McCormick School (Institute) Professor and Walter P. Murphy Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, United States.^[1] He is known for his contributions to the mathematics of hydrodynamic stability and interfacial phenomena.^[2] Davis has been listed as an ISI Highly Cited Author in Engineering by the ISI Web of Knowledge, Thomson Scientific Company.^[3] He is currently the Editor of Journal of Fluid Mechanics.^[4]
