Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Gary George Dalton, KCB, BSc, FRAeS, RAF is the current Chief of the Air Staff and professional head of the Royal Air Force.

Educated at the University of Bath where he studied Aeronautical Engineering,[1] Dalton joined the Royal Air Force in 1973.[2] Dalton was deployed on Operation Jural which involved flying operations over Iraq: he was awarded the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air in 1986.[3]
Air Marshal Simon Bryant succeeded Air Marshal Stephen Dalton as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief Personnel and Air Member for Personnel, Royal Air Force Air Command on 1 April 2009.[4]

Dalton has two children, twins Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Henry who were born on the 29th July, 1991 and attended Rugby School.
[edit] Awards and decorations
Already a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB),[5] Dalton was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB) in the 2009 Birthday Honours.[6]
