Stella Tillyard is a British author, best known for the best-selling Aristocrats: Caroline, Emily, Louisa and Sarah Lennox, 1740-1832 which was made into a BBC Miniseries in 1999. [edit] List of works
[edit] Critical receptionAristocrats was described as "compulsively readable" by The New York Times Book Review[citation needed] and "singular and remarkable" by The Washington Post[citation needed]. Stella Tillyard studied at Oxford and Harvard Universities, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has taught at Harvard, UCLA and London Universities. She is at present writing the first of two historical novels set in the Regency period. It is due for publication in 2010. For long periods she has lived in the USA and Italy, and now lives in London. [edit] References
