Steinert High School (also called Hamilton High School East) is a four year comprehensive public high school, one of three secondary high schools that are part of the Hamilton Township Public Schools, located in Hamilton Township in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The other high schools in the district are Nottingham High School (Hamilton High School North) and Hamilton High School (Hamilton High School West). The school mascot is the Spartan. As of the 2007-08 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,565 students and 92 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17:1.[1] [edit] Courses Steinert offers Advanced Placement Program (AP) courses in AP United States History, AP European History, AP Computer Science, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP English Literature and Composition, AP United States Government and AP Calculus. [edit] Sports The Steinert High School Spartans compete in the thirteen-member Colonial Valley Conference. The 2006 baseball team won the Central, Group IV title, defeating South Brunswick High School 11-4 in the tournament final.[2] The team then moved on to win the state Group IV championship, defeating Randolph High School 4-1 in the final game.[3] The 2007 team won the Central, Group IV state sectional championship with a 5-0 complete game shut out by Richard Balgowan. |Hillsborough High School]].[4] The girls' softball team won the 2004 NJSIAA Group IV State Championship.[5] In 2007, the field hockey team won the Central Jersey, Group IV state sectional championship with a 1-0 win over Toms River High School South in the tournament final.[6] In 2007, the girls soccer team won the Central, Group IV state sectional championship with a 1-0 win over Jackson Memorial High School in the tournament final.[7][8] Steinert offers a wide variety of clubs and activities: - Breakfast Club
