Staffan Kronwall (born September 10, 1983 in Järfälla, Sweden) is a professional ice hockey defenceman for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League. He is the younger brother of Detroit Red Wings defender Niklas Kronwall.
[edit] Playing careerKronwall was drafted in the 9th round, 285th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The Washington Capitals claimed him off re-entry waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 6, 2009.[1] He signed with the Calgary Flames via free agency in July 2009. Kronwall represented his country at the 2002 World Junior Championship and collected 0 points and 4 penalty minutes in 7 games for Sweden. Kronwall scored his first NHL goal on October 6, 2009 in a 4-3 win against Jaroslav Halak of the Montreal Canadiens. [edit] Career statistics
