Speedy Gonzales is a 1961 David Dante's song (RCA 8056)[1], popularized in the United States as a 1962 single by Pat Boone about Speedy Gonzales, "the fastest mouse in all Mexico." It was written by Buddy Kaye, Ethel Lee and David Hill [2]. "Speedy Gonzales" kept the #6 Billboard position in 1962 for 13 weeks.[3] The female voice ("La-la-la...") on this song was of Robin Ward. [3] It also incorporated Mel Blanc voicing Speedy Gonzales in the cartoons.

The David Dante original went top three in the Philippines in July 1961. This version featured barely any of the Speedy Gonzales' voice parts.[1]
