Spectinomycin (marketed as the hydrochloride salt spectinomycin hydrochloride under the trade name Trobicin) is an aminocyclitol antibiotic, closely related to the aminoglycosides, produced by the bacterium Streptomyces spectabilis. There was a disruption in the supply in 2001.[1]
