Martha Howe-Douglas is a British actress, best known for playing the receptionist Donna Parmer in the BBC One daytime soap, Doctors.
[edit] Personal LifeBorn in Birmingham Donna always wanted to be an Actress. She became and Actress in 1996 and did theatre work. In 2006 she was given a big TV break as a role on the award-winning BBC daytime soap opera, Doctors. She played the role of Receptionist and Mother, Donna Paramr for just over a year and she left the set of Doctors at BBC Birmingham in 2007. Martha is good friends with Doctors co-star, Donnaleigh Bailey who plays Michelle Corrigan. [edit] CareerMartha replaced Dawn as the receptionist at Wernham-Hogg in The Office. She also plays numerous characters on CBBC's Horrible Histories. She has also recently stared in The Armstrong & Miller Show on BBC One. Martha had a small speaking part only saying one line in the whole episode but appeared visual in many scenes. [edit] DoctorsFrom 24 April 2006 until 11 May 2007 Martha played Brummie Receptionist, Donna Parmar. Donna took up the job at the Mill after her son, Taran started Primary school. She was a very funny, loveable and friendly character, Butin 2007 she found out her son Taran was being bullied due to his nationality. Donna found out that the boy who was bullying him's mother was a patient at the Mill! Donna looked at the files and found out the boy's mother was an alcoholic. Boss and Good Friend, Julia Parsons, played by Diane Keen found out about this break of patient confidentiality, Eventually Donna was fired by Julia. [edit] British Soap AwardsMartha attened the British Soap Awards in 2007 as her role as Donna Parmar in Doctors. Martha was nominated twice, once for Best Newcomer were she came third out of fourth in the poll and Best Comedy Performance Were she had a close second place nearly coming first!
