Smooth Radio is a brand of radio stations in the United Kingdom owned by GMG Radio.
Smooth Radio is also available on DAB in Yorkshire (currently a relay of the North East service; before that launched, a relay of the London service was carried). Smooth London was also on DAB in South Wales & Severn Estuary until 2008, when it was replaced by Jazz FM (UK). The Glasgow service is available across Central Scotland on DAB. The other stations are on DAB in their coverage areas, generally on the local MXR-operated regional multiplex, except in London where it is on Switchdigital's London II multiplex, and in the East Midlands, where there is no regional multiplex and so Smooth is carried on the NOW Nottingham multiplex. The name of the stations in the North West and London was Smooth FM until March 26th 2007. The format of Soul and Jazz was changed to music that was once described as "middle of the road". Following owners Guardian Media Group's acquisition of the three Saga stations, they decided to change the name of them, along with the North West England and London versions of Smooth FM, to simply Smooth Radio.
