Smita Jaykar is an Indian actress well-known in her native country for frequently playing mothers and other supporting roles in Bollywood movies and TV shows.

A native of the Thakurdwar neighbourhood in South Mumbai, she is a Maharashtrian whose husband, Mohan Jaykar, is the son of esteemed Marathi barrister Barr Jaykar. She is renowned for her roles in Marathi-language television serials and scores of films which, since 2000, have included Astitva, Mujhse Dosti Karoge! [Will You Be My Friend?], Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai [Love Is Crazy], Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, 23rd March 1931: Shaheed, Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa, Devdas, Chori Chori, Dil Maange More [The Heart Wants More], Darwaaza Bandh Rakho [Keep the Door Shut] , Baabul and 2009 in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
