• Siege of Rome (756) - Rome is besieged by the Lombard prince Aistulf
• Siege of Rome (1849) - Rome is besieged by French Second Empire forces during the short-lived Roman Republic
• The Capture of Rome by Italian forces in September 1870, ending the Risorgimento
