Shelly A. Glover (born January 2, 1967) is a Canadian politician, and is currently the Member of Parliament for the electoral district of Saint Boniface, Manitoba. She is a member of the Conservative Party and is the Parliamentary Secretary for Official Languages. She is the first policewoman MP in Canadian history. [1]

Glover served as a member of the Winnipeg Police Service for almost 19 years prior to her election. She has been involved in undercover work, child abuse investigations, youth crime and gang investigations, and general patrol. She was the first ever female and bilingual spokesperson appointed by her department. She has been involved with many community organizations such as Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Pregnancy Distress, and Francophone Chamber of Commerce. She is also a keen sports advocate who has coached soccer for 14 years.

Glover is married, and has raised 5 children with her husband Bruce who is a retired police officer and small business owner.

Glover won the riding in the 2008 federal election, beating out incumbent Liberal Raymond Simard by over 4,500 votes. On November 7, 2008 Glover was named Parliamentary Secretary for Official Languages by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.[2]

Glover is a Winnipeg police officer currently on leave of absence. She speaks both French and English and identifies as a Manitoba Métis.

Controversy arose when Ms. Glover donated water bottles to the Louis Riel School Division containing her name and the Conservative Party of Canada logo.
