Seven Persons is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada. It is located at an elevation of 755 meters (2,477 ft), 20 kilometers (12 mi) west of Medicine Hat, on Highway 3. The hamlet is located in census division No. 1 and in the federal riding of Medicine Hat. It is administered by Cypress County.[2]
[edit] HistoryIt was founded by Cyril Ogston in the 1800s. It was part of the great migration of Mormons leaving the United States in an attempt for religious freedom as the United States created laws that did not let them practice polygamy, a part of their religion at the time. [edit] DemographicsAs of 2006, the community had a total population of 747 living in 246 dwellings.[1] With a land area of 446.0 km2 (172.2 sq mi), it has a population density of 1.0 /km2 (2.6/sq mi).
