Lee Seung-hyun (Korean: 이승현, 李勝賢), known by his stage name Seungri, which means "victory" in Korean, is a member of Korean group Big Bang. Before joining the group, he was a member of a dance team in Gwangju. He first appeared on television on the reality television series Let's Cokeplay: M.Net Battle Shinhwa, a show in which Shinhwa attempted to create a boy band that could be a "second Shinhwa". He then attempted to join Big Bang; although being cut on the ninth episode of the group's documentary series, he was given another chance to impress YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk and succeeded.
[edit] BiographySeungri is known for his dance skills. In his hometown,Gwangju, he was part of a well known dance group. Some of his dance battles include star dance battle where he competed against his fellow Big Bang member Taeyang, and another dance battle in which he competed against Super Junior's Eunhyuk, 2PM's Jaebeom, TVXQ's Yunho, and Shinee's Taemin. Outside of the group, Seungri has appeared in two musicals: Sonagi in 2008 and Shouting in 2009 alongside Daesung who was unable to perform at the last minute due to a car accident. He has also appeared in the film Why Did You Come to My House, and is set to be in a drama with fellow member T.O.P. Seungri has had two solo songs: "Next Day" and "Strong Baby". He promoted "Strong Baby" in order to show a more mature image, moving away from the "youngest member" concept. After passing the college entrance exams, Seungri was accepted into Chung-Ang University and will begin his college education in Spring 2010, along with Yuri of Girl's Generation (SNSD).
