Scotty Balan (born May 29, 1982 in Medicine Hat, Alberta) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently plays in Oslo, Norway GET-ligaen. Balan was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 4th round (106th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Started pro career in 2002-03 with the Roanoke Express (ECHL)... Played 38 games during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL)... Also skated for the Florence Pride (2003-04) and Greenville Grrrowl (2004-05) in the ECHL... Tied for second among Greenville defensemen with +10 rating in 2004-05... Was a +5 on Jan. 28, 2005 vs. Texas...2005-09 played for the Bakersfield Condors: ranked second among Condors defensemen with career high 26 assists and 29 points... Posted five points (2g, 3a) in 14 playoff games...Posted 47 points (7g, 40a) and 357 penalty minutes in four-plus years of junior hockey in the WHL...
