Scott Casey(born January 11, 1954) is a retired American professional wrestler who is probably best known for his stint in the World Wrestling Federation between 1987 and 1990. His brother, Steve, was also a wrestler who appeared in the National Wrestling Alliance in the late 1980s and for the Global Wrestling Federation in the early 1990s as 'Steve Dane'. Casey, originally from Amarillo, Texas[1], now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.[2]
[edit] Early careerScott Casey began his wrestling career in the 1970s and in his early career spent nine years in Joe Blanchard's Southwest Championship Wrestling promotion. On August 30, 1983 Casey defeated Adrian Adonis to win the Southwest Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship.[3] A month later, on September 11 he defeated Tully Blanchard to win the SWCW Southwest Heavyweight Championship. [4] In September, Casey also held the SWCW Southwest Tag Team Championship with Buddy Mareno, replacing the 'injured' Bobby Jaggers.[5] [edit] World Wrestling FederationIn 1987 Casey began wrestling for the World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE). He spent most of his time there in single matches as a baby face. He would also wrestle the odd tag team match on house shows with other mid card guys like Danny Spivey, Sam Houston, Lanny Poffo, and Jerry Allen to put over teams like the Hart Foundation, the Islanders and Demolition. His most high-profile appearance was at the 1988 Survivor Series where he teamed with Jake Roberts, Tito Santana, Ken Patera and Jim Duggan in a losing effort against André the Giant, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Harley Race and Dino Bravo. Casey continued to wrestle for the World Wrestling Federation until he left in 1990. [edit] RetirementCasey, after leaving the World Wrestling Federation, retired from active wrestling. Casey took jobs in car dealership and construction, and began working as a trainer for Nick Bockwinkel's UWF International wrestling promotion. Casey is credited as the trainer who broke former WCW and WWE wrestler Booker T into the business[6]. Casey now works as a security guard at the Luxor hotel/casino in Las Vegas, a post he has held for over twelve years. [7] [edit] In wrestling
