Scott Bolkan (born February 18, 1986 in Corvallis, Oregon) is a retired American soccer defender.

Bolkan graduated from South Salem High School in Salem, Oregon in 2004, where he was a McDonald’s High School All American soccer player. He then attended Stanford University, playing on the men’s soccer team from 2004 to 2007.[1] He graduated in spring 2008 with a bachelors degree in biology.

In 2005, Bolkan played during the collegiate off-season with the Cascade Surge of the fourth division Premier Development League.[2] In 2007, he played for the Westchester Flames of the PDL.[3] Although Bolkan attended the 2008 MLS Player Combine, he was undrafted. On April 9, 2008, the Los Angeles Galaxy signed Bolkan to a developmental contract and sent him on loan to the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division.[4]

Bolkan made his professional debut on 10 June, 2008, in the Timbers' shock loss to Hollywood United in the first round of the US Open Cup.[5]. In 2008 he also played several games for Galaxy's reserve team, but never played for the first team.

On 15 November 2008, Bolkan announced his retirement from professional soccer.[6] Currently, he is a research assistant in the Behavioral Neuroscience department of Oregon Health & Science University.
