Scorpio Babers (born November 6, 1983 in Italy, Texas) is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an street free agent in 2008. He played college football at Sam Houston State.

Babers has also been a member of the Green Bay Packers.

[edit] First stint with Dolphins

Babers was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2008. He was waived by the Dolphins on July 30, 2008 after the team signed cornerback Chris Roberson.^[1]

[edit] Green Bay Packers

On August 8, 2008, Babers was signed by the Green Bay Packers to fill the roster spot vacated by quarterback Brett Favre after his trade to the New York Jets. He was waived by the Packers on August 30 during final cuts.

[edit] Second stint with Dolphins

Babers was re-signed to the Dolphins' practice squad on December 24, 2008. He was re-signed to a future contract on January 5, 2009. He was released on June 15, 2009.

[edit] Feud with Kregg Lumpkin and Buck Ortega

In November 2009 Babers engaged in an epic battle with fellow NFL players and former University of Georgia standout Kregg Lumpkin and Buck Ortega after Babers reportedly used slurs "Buck Tooth" Ortega and "Egg" Lumpkin. Babers is now in a hospital recovering after taking a cleat to his face from the assault at the hands of Lumpkin.
