Salvatore Philip Butera (born September 25, 1952, in Richmond Hill, New York) was a Major League Baseball catcher and is currently a Special Assistant to Toronto Blue Jays General Manager J. P. Ricciardi.

Signed by the Minnesota Twins as an amateur free agent in 1972, Butera would make his major league debut with the Minnesota Twins on April 10, 1980, and appear in his final major league game on September 26, 1988.

Butera was a member of the Minnesota Twins team that defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1987 World Series.

Sal and his wife have a son; Andrew, born August 9, 1983. Drew is a Double-A catcher for the New Britain Rock Cats, a minor league affiliate of his dad's former team, the Minnesota Twins.
