Sakaryaspor is a Turkish football (soccer) club, formed in 1965 after the merger Yıldırımspor, Idmanyurdu, Güneşspor and Ada Gençlik. In the end of the 2005-2006 BANK ASYA League A football season, Sakaryaspor won a place in the play-off matches. After eliminating Istanbulspor in the first playoff match, Sakaryaspor went on to defeat Altay SK 4-1 in the finals and were promoted to the Turkcell Super League. They were relegated from the Turkcell Super League the following season. They were also old Second League champions in seasons of 1980-81 and 1986-87. Football club also nicknamed as "Football Factory" by the supporters. Sakaryaspor relegated to Second League, which is third level of Turkish league once due to remained behind Samsunspor by dual average (1-3, 1-0).
