[edit] Personal

Eremenko moved to Finland with his family at the age of three when his father, former FC Dynamo Moscow and FC Spartak Moscow player Alexei Eremenko Sr., came to play in Finland with FF Jaro. In 1998 he moved to Tromso (Norway) with his family, as his father got a 1 year contract with Norwegian top division side, Tromso IL. The contract was not renewed, so the family moved back to Finland after the season. While in Norway, Roman went to school at "Bjerkaker skole", and played for one of Tromso IL's childrens teams. He was granted Finnish citizenship in 2003, but still holds Russian passport as well, Roman is the younger brother of Alexei Eremenko Jr. His father took over as manager in Jaro in August 2009.
