Roger Aspinall was a fictional character in the BBC television drama series Waterloo Road. He was portrayed by Nick Sidi.
[edit] GovernorsRoger was an investor for Waterloo Road. Jack Rimmer, and Kim Campbell (Waterloo Road) were suspicious of his plans. Rimmer blackmailed him into putting in a good word for the headship candidate when he discovered that Roger's main source of income was pornography. Roger agreed and although Lyndsey Woodham was the first choice, she rejected the position as she had seen a pupil assaulting Rimmer. Grantly Budgen taunted Aspinall about his dyslexia when Aspinall was a pupil at Waterloo Road some 30 years earlier. Aspinall found Budgen asleep on duty and reported him to the acting head Andrew Treneman. Budgen was fired but Treneman decided that it was wrong of him to take Jack Rimmer's place as acting head and resigned. Rimmer brought Grantly back, leaving Aspinall waiting for Budgen to slip. Roger was a dedicated member of the board and no one or nothing stopped him from what he wants for the school, and does not care who disagrees with him and which enemies he makes along the way. Roger and his new sponsor, Jerry Preston were told by Jack to leave and that they could take their money elsewhere after Jack refused to get rid of secretary Davina Shackleton after it was revealed she was a former girlfriend of Roger's 17-year-old son Brett. [edit] Personal lifeRoger had a distant relationship with his son Brett, who was disgusted by his affair with another woman while his mother was terminally ill, as well as his plans for the school. Despite this, Aspinall still tried to bond with his son, trying to achieve this when he had a gap in his busy schedule. [edit] References[edit] External links
