Rog (Hindi: रोग, Urdu: روگ), meaning "malady", is a 2005 Hindi Bollywood film starring Irfan Khan and Ilene Hamann, directed by Himanshu Brahmbhatt, written by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Pooja Bhatt. Its plot is based on the Hollywood suspense thriller Laura. [edit] Plot SummaryUday Singh Rathod (Irrfan Khan) is an honest police inspector, rather a super-cop, quite famed for his brilliant investigative mind but he suffers from mild-insomnia. Following the murder of a model, Maya Solomon (Ilene Hamann), Rathod is handed over the charge of the case to solve it within a week. Thus begins Rathods unusual journey. A well-known journalist Harsh (Suhel Seth), a rich party-animal Ali (Himanshu Malik) and his companion Shyamoli (Shyamoli Varma) are short-listed as chief suspects. Rathod works day in and day out to get the mystery solved. While conducting the investigation and piecing together the past of the model, the cop starts falling in love with the image of the dead woman; all the while trying to find her killer. However, Rathod gets the shock of his life when Maya resurfaces one night. If Maya is alive, who had been shot dead that night? And what was the motive behind the murder? When Maya suddenly shows up, it leaves Rathod confused about the murder. Later, the suspects throw a party, where Rathod and Maya Fall in Love.
