Richard Martyn "Ricky" Foster (born 31 July 1985 in Aberdeen, Scotland) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Aberdeen. Foster has spent most of his career playing as a right winger. He grew up in Elgin, and attended Elgin High School, where he still holds the record for 100 & 200 metre sprint.[citation needed]

Although blessed with great pace, Foster has drawn criticism for his lack of technical ability. He has, however, made significant progress during the 2007–2008 Season, impressing with a string of man-marking performances. Although naturally a right winger, Foster commonly played in the left back position when Aberdeen's first choice left back Richie Byrne was injured. For season 2008-09 he was given the number 3 shirt, previously worn by Byrne. With Charlie Mulgrew - a naturally left-footed full back now at the club - Foster normally plays on the right side of defence. Foster's versatility however, now means that Goalkeeper is the only position in which he has not played for the Dons.

Foster has grown popular with 5 a side footballers throughout Aberdeen, with one team even naming themselves 'Ricky Fosters Barmy Army' in honour of the defender.[citation needed]
