[edit] Playing career

Warrener was drafted in the second round, 27th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played for Florida from 1995 to 1999. On March 23, 1999, he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres. He played for the Sabres until he was traded to Calgary on July 3, 2003. Warrener has been part of three teams which lost in the Stanley Cup Finals: the 1996 Florida Panthers, 1999 Buffalo Sabres and the 2004 Calgary Flames.

Along with Mike Commodore, he played a role in Paul Brandt's music video, "Convoy", as a truck driver.

On June 26, 2008, Calgary placed him on waivers for the purpose of freeing up space for the salary cap. Warrener did not play in the 2008–09 NHL season due to injury. He retired after having career ending shoulder surgery during the 2008-09 season, remaining with the Flames as a scout.[1]
