Republican Guard is the organization of a republic which serves to protect the President and the government. Usually synonymous with Presidential Guard.
- French Republican Guard called the Garde républicaine (GR)
- Iraqi Republican Guard, the core of the Iraqi military during Saddam Hussein's rule
- Italian Republican National Guard called the Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana (GNR)
- Egyptian Republican Guard, under the control of the Ministry of Defense and numbers about 60,000 personnel and they are mainly for ceremonials and parades. The Republican Guard armored division is not a part of the Corps, it is rather for the defence of the Presidential institution and the Capital.
