Renuka Shahane (born 27 March 1965) is an Indian actress working in the Bollywood film industry and in Indian television.
[edit] Personal life and educationRenuka Shahane was born in Maharashtra. She is married to Ashutosh Rana, also a Bollywood actor. They have two sons named Shauryaman and Satyendra. [edit] CareerShahane started her career from the Marathi Film Industry and has done many Marathi Films. She worked in the popular TV serial, Surabhi, in 1993. Along with Siddharth Kak, she became a formidable host on the show. It showcased Indian culture, arts from various parts of India. She became popular after her role in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, a 1994 blockbuster film. She is all set to release her first Marathi film as a director called 'Rita'. Renuka Shahane who in her debut film Rita has worn both hats—that of a director as well as of an actor. Adapted from her mother Shanta Gokhale's novel, Rita Welingkar, Renuka Shahane plays a pivotal role of a friend, guide and philosopher of Rita, the main protagonist. Renuka has Jackie Shroff, Pallavi Joshi, Suhasini Mulay and Mohan Agashe in the cast. [edit] Filmography
Circus was one of the initial serials that she starred in. The role she portrayed in the serial was as the love interest of the character played by Shah Rukh Khan. Her role as a strong-willed woman in the serial Imtihaan was widely appreciated.
